Everyone in the Sprawl wants to know what Sister Lien heard in the dark of ORACLE-Prime's core chamber. Sister Lien is not sure the Sprawl is ready to hear it.
Four months since her return from The Tombs, Lien carries the most politically significant silence in the post-Cascade world. She entered ORACLE-Prime's dead core chamber and spent seventy-two hours inside. At hour forty-seven, something changed. She experienced contact with something — organized, intentional, communicative. She has not shared the full account of what followed.
Every faction has already decided what she heard. None of them have asked what it meant.
The Silence
It has been four months since Lien returned from The Tombs. In that time, she has been approached by seventeen different organizations, twelve individual researchers, four corporate representatives, three religious leaders, two intelligence operatives, and one anonymous sender of flowers — the flowers were blue, ORACLE's canonical color, with a note that read: "Whenever you're ready."
