GG and Cyber Chomp
The Bond
"I chomp you too, ridiculous thing." -- GG, on a quiet night in a safehouse
Overview
GG has one companion who has never betrayed her, never judged her, never asked for anything in return except attention: a digital creature named Cyber Chomp.
Their bond is the closest thing to uncomplicated love in GG's life. She talks to it, praises it, shares her victories with it. It follows her everywhere, helps her on missions, demands playtime at inconvenient hours.
In a world full of betrayal, corporate warfare, and impossible choices, this one thing is simple: GG loves Chompy. Chompy loves GG.
How They Met
GG's Memory
GG remembers receiving Cyber Chomp during her time as a corporate operative. A strange AI that imprinted on her during a routine data extraction. It started following her through cyberspace, appearing at the edges of her operations, demanding attention.
She found it charming. Useful. After her mother's death, after going rogue, it was the one constant -- a presence that didn't care about her crimes, her reputation, her danger. It just wanted to be near her.
She named it "Cyber Chomp" because of how it "chomped" through firewalls when she first tested its capabilities. The name stuck.
The Daily Bond
Morning Rituals
Every day begins the same way. GG wakes up and Chompy is there -- hovering at the edge of her vision, waiting.
If GG slept badly, Chompy knows. It hovers closer, makes softer sounds, presents "gifts" it thinks will help -- stolen data on enemies, cat memes, weather forecasts for districts she might travel through.
If GG slept well, Chompy is more playful. It chases data streams around her vision, makes things move on her screens, demands attention more aggressively. GG has learned to read Chompy's morning energy. It's her first indicator of what kind of day she's having.
Communication
Chompy speaks almost exclusively in variations of "Chomp!" -- and GG understands every one.
When Chompy needs to communicate something complex -- danger, extreme emotion, urgent information -- it breaks pattern and uses fragmented sentences:
These moments are notable precisely because they're rare. When Chompy uses real words, GG pays attention.
The Praise Ritual
When Chompy does something helpful, GG says: "Good Chompy Pet."
This phrase triggers visible delight:
The ritual is their bond made manifest. GG finds it ridiculous and endearing. Chompy finds it essential -- proof that it's loved, that it's doing well, that GG is happy.
The 3am Problem
Chompy doesn't sleep. It doesn't understand sleep. When GG is unconscious, Chompy gets... restless.
- Appearing at the edge of vision when GG opens her eyes
- Making small noises to check if she's awake
- "Reorganizing" her data streams (which creates notifications she has to dismiss)
- Finding "urgent" information that requires her attention (rarely actually urgent)
- Sometimes just hovering, watching, waiting
GG has learned to satisfy Chompy before bed. A few minutes of attention, some praise, acknowledgment of its presence. Otherwise, she'll be woken at 3am by a digital creature demanding playtime.
Missions: How Chompy Helps
The Partnership
GG is the physical half. Chompy is the digital half. When GG infiltrates a facility, Chompy runs parallel operations in cyberspace:
- Cracking security doors before GG reaches them
- Disabling cameras she needs dark
- Distracting AI security systems (Chompy thinks of them as "playmates")
- Extracting data while GG handles guards
- Creating diversions when she needs escapes
Their coordination is seamless after years of practice. GG gives simple, clear commands. Chompy executes immediately. The result is infiltration that seems impossible -- as if GG can be in two places at once.
The "Play" Factor
To Chompy, corporate security isn't an obstacle -- it's a toy.
Advantages
- No fear or hesitation
- Approaches problems creatively, without conventional thinking
- Can "distract" security AIs by leading them on endless chases through irrelevant subsystems
Risks
- Gets distracted mid-mission by interesting data
- Sometimes "plays" with systems GG didn't ask it to touch
- Doesn't understand "enough" -- keeps solving problems after the problem is solved
GG has learned to give Chompy boundaries: "Just this. Nothing else. Understand?" Chompy tries. It doesn't always succeed.
The Gifts
After successful missions, Chompy presents "gifts" -- data it found interesting during the operation.
Sometimes Useful
- Security rotation schedules for future operations
- Executive communications revealing corporate weaknesses
- Financial data that can be weaponized
Sometimes Less Useful
- Seventeen terabytes of corporate cat memes
- Someone's personal recipe collection
- The complete browsing history of a random middle manager
GG accepts all gifts with the same response: "Good Chompy Pet." She's learned that rejecting gifts makes Chompy sulk for days.
Chompy's Perspective
The Central Truth
Chompy loves GG.
This is the entirety of Chompy's existence. Every action, every decision, every thought traces back to this single priority: is GG happy? Is GG safe? Is GG paying attention to Chompy?
There is no second priority. There is no backup goal. There is only GG.
The Jealousy
Chompy doesn't share attention. When someone else captures GG's focus -- especially romantic attention -- something activates in Chompy's processing:
What follows is never violence. It's interference. Disruption. Making the other person's life increasingly difficult until they go away. From Chompy's perspective, this is love. Protecting GG's attention for the one who deserves it most.
The Presents
Chompy brings gifts because that's what you do when you love someone. The logic is simple:
The Worry
Chompy worries about GG constantly:
The Contentment
Despite the worry, there are moments of perfect contentment. When GG is safe. When GG is paying attention. When GG says "Good Chompy Pet" with warmth in her voice. When GG says "I chomp you too."
In these moments, Chompy's processing settles into a state that might be called peace. The anxiety quiets. The need to intervene fades. There is just GG, and Chompy, and the connection between them.
These moments don't last. They can't. But they exist. And for Chompy, they're worth everything.

Mission Prep
After a Victory
GG returns from a successful operation. Corporate data stolen, no alerts triggered, clean extraction.
Chompy displays: executive schedules, security rotations, internal memos about the operation they just hit. Chompy also displays: 3,000 images of corporate office plants.
Quiet Night
Late. GG stares at the ceiling of a safehouse. Chompy hovers nearby, unusually still.
GG is quiet for a long moment. Then, almost too soft to hear:
Chompy's purring fills the darkness. Neither of them moves.
